HILLSONG UNITED!!!
HILLSONG UNITED 'O8 IN MANILA
(Abby, thanks for the photos... )
We were early. People came in groups. As usual, I got excited; you know, the typical me... "Can't wait to get inside..."
It took a while before empty seats were filled. Then... the lights went off... There you go... Hillsong United on the stage. Oh! I get to see Joel Houston in the flesh... cute... anyway, the first good two minutes made me stare at them. But then, after that, all I could do was to jump, sing, and clap my hands. I could say that I sang to my hearts content, sang with all my strength. It was one of the most revitalizing experiences I ever had. While raising my hands, my eyes were no longer fixated on the stage, but it was more on "where my happiness comes from...".
Singing worship songs doesn't just make me fill an empty space in me, it makes me realize that "there really is more to this, that the battle is still out there,". Yet, it makes me stay still and say to myself "I have all I need to face it...".
We sang for almost three hours. And for the first time, I knew how it felt to be naked (figuratively speaking of course), to be able to reach my hands up high as though heaven was just at the tip of my fingers, to be able to jump as though I was drunk, to be able to shout as though my vocal chords were being ripped apart.
It was a sight to behold, I was lost and awed in a sea of outstretched arms... at the end of it, I realized a lot. A lot that the moment I stepped out of the coliseum, I said to myself, "LET THE BATTLE BEGIN..."
