STOP, LOOK, and LISTEN

These three words were just simply a part of a rhyme I used to recite when I was young. Funny how it finds its way back to me right now.

Imagine being a fish. Well, if I were to choose, I want to be a golden one. Okey, so I am with other fishes, they come in white, black, and grey. I'm in a an aquarium ordinary enough for someone to pass by when he's busy and extraordinary enough for a kid to stop and stare amazingly how I rush back and forth in that rectangular thing.

Being in a place with different fishes around you is not easy. Think about how I would compete with the others when the feeds start plopping into the water. I have to find my way with them, to live harmoniously with them, to survive without biting or even killing each other.

It's easy watching a fish inside an aquarium, but sometimes, you can't help but wonder HOW THEY DO IT. Same goes with living with others. It's not easy being one with the crowd. That's why it's important to STOP, LOOK, and LISTEN. The adage "be yourself" is easy to say but believe me, once you're there, it's just like keeping your head above water. Sometimes, you find yourself lost to the point of literally needing a map.

In the midst of all this hula-baloo, one thing is certain, the toughest survives... Those who stand their ground wins.
